Review: Lana Tequila Blanco
Lana Tequila Blanco was released June 2023 by Co-Founders Maximilian Arasin and Prestige Beverage Group. In November they released Lana Tequila Reposado. Lana is one of 36 tequila brands distilled at Destileria Leyros. Those brands include Casa Dragones, Casazul, Republic, and Dahlia. Destileria Leyros employs sustainable production practices including minimizing water use, energy consumption, and waste generation. Lana was awarded a Double Gold Medal and named Best in Show at the 2023 San Francisco World Spirit Competition. Lana is made from 100% Blue Weber agave grown 5-7 years in the Lowland Region. The aroma leads with roasted herbal agave, vanilla, lime, sea salt, and cinnamon spice, with floral notes. The sweet herbal agave, vanilla, and pear entry has a soft water mouth feel. Lime arrives building to an orange, and salted lime peak. It fades with herbal agave, orange zest, and roasted pear, and finishes with sea salt, buttery agave, jalapeno pepper, and lime peel.
