Review: Bet Vodka

BET VodkaBet Vodka was recently launched in Minnesota.  The vodka pronounced beet, was created by Ben Brueshoff and Jerad Poling, and is distilled in New Richmond Wisconsin at the 45th Parallel Distillery.  It is crafted from locally grown sugar beets that travel from farm fields to a cooperative where they are processed into granulated beet sugar.  The beet sugar is then dissolved into water and nutrients.  After a 2 week fermentation it is distilled three times and then blended with filtered water.  The vodka is filtered through active carbon and bottled at 80 proof.  20% of the worlds sugar production comes from sugar beets, with Russia, France, and the United States producing the most.
