Burnetts Citrus Vodka was introduced in 2000. Citrus and Orange were Burnetts first two flavored vodka’s. They currently product 33 flavored vodka’s. While this number is impressive, at one time they made 37. Burnetts has not released a new flavor in 5 years. Burnetts Citrus starts with a vodka base made from 100% grain in Bardstown Kentucky by Heaven Hill Distillers. Heaven Hill also make Elijah Craig Bourbon, Blackheart Spiced Rum, Lunazul Tequila, Christian Brothers Brandy, and Deep Eddy Vodka. The Burnett’s vodka base is quadruple distilled and triple charcoal filtered. Natural flavors are infused before bottling at 70 proof. While Burnetts wasn’t the first watermelon flavored vodka, Smirnoff Watermelon Twist was released in 2004, it was along with Three Olives Watermelon, one of the first three. Watermelon is one of 37 flavored vodka’s made by Heaven Hills Brands under the Burnetts label. With Pinnacle Vodka reducing their flavored vodka lineup to 30, Burnetts now only trails Smirnoff and their 42 flavors. Burnetts Watermelon Vodka is made from 100% grain in Bardstown Ketucky. Natural flavors are then added. Having sold 2,610,000 cases of vodka in 2014, Burnetts has grown their vodka sales by over 1 million cases per year since 2010. While the price of Burnetts vodka, I paid $7.99 for a 750ml bottle, may have something to do with the success of the brand, price only works for the first bottle of Burnetts purchased. Having reviewed 355 vodkas without a single Burnetts review, I felt it was time for me to stop ignoring this very popular brand. Read more
