Review: Spud Caramel Macchiato Vodka

007Spud Caramel Macchiato vodka is the newest flavor in the Spud line of vodka’s.  They launched the brand Nationally in the US and Canada in 2013.  Their other flavors include Potato, Red Hot Chile Pepper, Ginger Lemongrass, Heirloom Tomato, and Pumpkin Spice.  Spud Caramel Macchiato vodka is made in Poland and it is described as a sweet potato flavored vodka.  It is distilled five times before it is flavored and bottled at 70 proof. Review: Pravda Caramel Vodka

Pravda Caramel vodka - CopyPravda Caramel vodka is one of seven vodka flavors Pravda creates in Poland with their original vodka as a base.  It is made in small batches with pristine ice cold Carpathian mountain spring water and local late harvest sweet rye.  They use a five step continuous distillation process that includes two extra high column stills.  This is followed by an extra distillation in a copper still to soften the taste.  It is then filtered with charcoal made from French Birchwood.  A cold stabilization process where the vodka passes through ultra technical filters under high pressure is then used.  Natural flavors are infused before bottling at 75 proof. Review: UV Salty Caramel Apple Vodka

UV salty caramel apple - CopyUV Salty Caramel Apple vodka was just released in limited quantities.  It is one of the seasonal flavors they offer in addition to their 21 year round vodka’s.  They create their vodka with Midwest grown yellow corn and purified water from deep aquifers in Princeton Minnesota.  It is distilled four times, then filtered with activated carbon before natural flavors are added. Review: Pearl Caramel Vodka

Pearl caramel vodkaPearl Caramel vodka was introduced in 2010.  It is one of 18 flavors St. Louis based Luxco creates under the Pearl label.  Pearl crafts their vodka in micro batches using pure water from Canadian Rocky Mountain streams and soft Canadian winter wheat.  It is distilled five times and filtered six times before natural flavors are infused.  It is bottled at 35% alcohol. Review: Effen Salted Caramel Vodka

Effen Salted Caramel - CopyEffen Salted Caramel vodka was introduced in the summer of 2013.  It is one of fivc vodka flavors Effen produces in Holland starting with a 120 year old recipe.  Effen uses Dutch wheat and spring water that has been further filtered through reverse osmosis.  They use a low temperature continuous rectification process that eliminates the bitterness caused by caramelization of the sugars and all natural ingredients.  Effen is filtered five times through active carbons in a bottom-up filtration process.  It is then packaged in their trademark bottle with a rubber wrap around label that is both easy to grip and designed to keep their vodka cold longer, Effen would look great on any bar shelf. Van Gogh Dutch Caramel - CopyVan Gogh Dutch Caramel vodka was introduced in 2009.  It is triple distilled in small batches with a 100% grain mix of wheat, corn and barley.  Made in Schiedam Holland with natural flavors, Van Gogh uses a six week double infusion process.  Bottled at 35% they use burned sugar to naturally color the vodka.  Read more »

Review: Stoli Salted Karamel Vodka

Stoli Salted Karamel - CopyStoli Salted Karamel vodka was introduced in July of 2012.  It was the first salted caramel flavored vodka.  At last count there are now three others.  It is one of 17 flavors Stoli now produces in Latvia.  They start with wheat and pure artesian well water and they are distilled three times and filtered four times.  Salted Karamel is the second of three flavors now included in Stoli’s Indulgent flavor line.  Read more »
