Review: Svedka Cherry Limeade Vodka
Svedka Cherry Limeade Vodka was recently released. It is one of twelve flavored vodkas in the current Svedka lineup. Svedka is not the first Cherry Limeade flavored vodka. Burnett’s also makes one. Pinnacle produces a Cherry Lemonade flavored vodka. Svedka Cherry Limeade is made from a vodka base of Swedish winter wheat and ice cold water from Swedish springs. Four pounds of wheat are needed to produce one 750 ml bottle of vodka. The vodka base is distilled five times and filtered five times. Review: Svedka Vodka
Svedka Vodka was launched in 1998 by Guillaume Cuvelier in Lidkoping Sweden. He sold Svedka to Constellation Brands in 2007. It is made from Swedish winter wheat. Four pounds of wheat is needed to produce one 750 ml bottle of Svedka. It is distilled five times in a continuous distillation process. Pure ice cold Swedish spring water is blended to reduce to proof. The spirit is run through high performance purification columns five separate times to remove impurities before bottling at 80 proof. At one time Svedka also produced a 100 proof vodka using the same process. Svedka currently makes 13 flavored vodka’s and they also introduced Svedka Spiked Seltzers a line of canned cocktails that surprisingly contain no vodka. They are made from a malt beverage base. Review: Svedka Pure Infusions Dragonfruit Melon
Svedka has just released Pure Infusions, a zero sugar, natural fruit infused vodka. Weighing in at 70 calories per 1.5 Oz. serving Svedka no doubt is taking aim at the market created with the release of Ketel One Botanicals and Smirnoff Zero Sugar Infusions. Dragonfruit Melon is one of three flavors available at launch. Strawberry Guava, and Ginger Lime are the others. Svedka is the number one imported vodka in the US, and while flavored vodka sales have fallen recently, Svedka’s flavored vodka sales have continued to grow. Svedka Blue Raspberry vodka starts with a vodka base made from Swedish winter wheat. Four pounds are required to produce one 750 ml bottle. The vodka is distilled 5 times in a continuous distillation process. Ice cold water from Swedish springs is blended to reduce to proof. The vodka is then run through high performance purification columns five separate times to remove impurities. Natural flavors are infused before bottling at 70 proof. While cucumber may not be a flavor one thinks of when compiling a list of vodka flavors, this is the eighth cucumber flavored vodka I’ve reviewed, and there are probably another eight I haven’t reviewed yet. Each 750ml bottle of Svedka is made with 4 pounds of Swedish winter wheat. The vodka is distilled 5 times in a continuous distillation process. At the final stage the vodka is run through high performance purification columns five separate times to remove impurities. Natural flavors are then infused before bottling in Bardstown Kentucky. Svedka Citron vodka was introduced as a 75 proof vodka. Svedka changed the recipe and they now bottle this flavor at 70 proof. This review is for the 35% alcohol version. Svedka Citron vodka was introduced in 2005. At the time it was bottled at 75 proof. It is currently bottled at 70 proof. As my regular readers know I built a collection of over 600 spirits before I launched Best Tasting Spirits. My goal was to post a new review every day for at least the first two years. Because I waited I now have a bottle of the old and new Svedka Citron. After tasting both there appears to be more then just a difference in alcohol content, so I will review each of them. Svedka Grapefruit Jalapeno vodka was just introduced along with an unflavored 100 proof vodka. This is the third new grapefruit flavored vodka launched this year. While grapefruit may be the hottest taste, heat is another popular trend. Heat and higher alcohol content. Svedka also introduced a 100 proof vodka. Heat in the form of cinnamon flavor, Fireball cinnamon whisky, and their many clones. Heat in the form of peppers, Pinnacle Habanero vodka. It was only a matter of time before someone combined the two. SGJ is crafted in Lidkoping Sweden with four pounds of Swedish winter wheat needed for each 750 ml bottle.
