Ole Smoky Hunch Punch Lightnin was released July 2014 along with an 80 proof Strawberry and Lemon Drop flavor. Both the Lemon Drop and Strawberry flavor had previously been produced at 40 proof. Hunch Punch is one of 25 flavors of moonshine Ole Smoky creates for sale on a Regional, or National basis, with some flavors only available at their distillery. Hunch Punch is crafted with a blend of 80% corn and 20% grain. It is distilled six times. A summertime blend of orange, pineapple and cherry juice is infused with the moonshine. Ole Smoky Big Orange Tennessee Moonshine is now available on a National basis. It was released for sale at their distilleries in Gaitlinburg and Pigeon Forge in 2014. Big Orange was named as a tribute to the University of Tennessee Football team. It is one of 23 flavors Ole Smoky creates for sale on a Regional, or National basis, with some only available at their distillery. Big Orange is crafted with a blend of 80% corn and 20% Grain. While some may argue as to who makes the best moonshine, there is no argument as to who makes the most moonshine flavors. Ole Smoky currently list ten 40 proof moonshines, three 80 proof, and five 100+ proof moonshines on their website. Review: Ole Smoky Lemon Drop Tennessee Moonshine
Ole Smoky Lemon Drop Tennessee Moonshine was introduced October 2013 with their Strawberry Moonshine. It is one of 13 flavors they create in Gatlinburg Tennessee with neutral spirits as the base. Natural lemon juice, sugar, and some artificial sweetener is added. They use a still and a 100 year old family recipe that has been perfected with the help of Dave Pickerell a former master distiller for Makers Mark Bourbon. Ole Smoky bottles their moonshine at 100, 80, and 40 proof. While the Lemon Drop was initially produced at 40 proof, Ole Smoky announced in July they would start bottling it at 80 proof as part of their new Lightnin line of moonshine. While the 40 proof line was designed to attract a larger fan base, current moonshine customers may prefer the heavier alcohol content. The Lemon Drop reviewed is the original 4o proof, currently still available at most liquor stores. Read more
