Review: Pearl Chocolate Hazelnut Vodka

Pearl Chocolate Hazelnut Vodka - CopyPearl Chocolate Hazelnut Vodka was introduced October 2015.  When I think of chocolate hazelnut, I immediately think of Nutella and Ferrero Rocher candy, and those thoughts are good.  Chocolate Hazelnut is one of 17 flavors made with their original unflavored Pearl Vodka as a base.  Pearl is made with vodka distilled in Alberta Canada with pure water from Canadian Rocky Mountain streams and soft Canadian winter wheat.  Two pounds of this wheat is needed to create one bottle.  Pearl is micro batch distilled five times and filtered six times before natural and artificial flavors are infused. Review: New Deal Mud Puddle Bitter Chocolate Vodka

New Deal Mud Puddle Bitter Chocolate Vodka - CopyNew Deal Mud Puddle Bitter Chocolate Vodka was introduced in 2009.  It is one of four vodka varieties crafted in Portland on Distillery Row at the New Deal Distillery.  The distillery was opened in 2004 by Tom Burkleaux and Matthew VanWinkle.  They also distill gin, rum, whiskey, and liqueur.  Mud Puddle Bitter Chocolate is not actually a flavored vodka as they infuse organic fair trade cacao nibs that were custom roasted in small batches before distilling in their copper still.  Pure Bull Run water is added to reduce to proof.   Read more »

Review: Van Gogh Dutch Chocolate Vodka

Van Gogh Dutch chocolate - CopyVan Gogh Dutch Chocolate vodka was the industries first chocolate flavored vodka when it was introduced in 2002.  In 2011 they added a Dark Chocolate flavored vodka.  It is one of 22 flavored vodka’s they craft in Holland.  A blend of wheat, corn, barley, and purified water is double distilled in a column still.  A third distillation in a copper pot still in small batches follows.  Imported cocoa beans are infused with the vodka using a six week double infusion process, before bottling at 70 proof. Review: Three Olives Chocolate Vodka

Three Olives Chocolate vodka - CopyThree Olives Chocolate vodka was introduced July 2003 along with their Orange flavor.  They were their fifth and sixth flavors.  Three Olives currently has 28 flavors, with more to follow.  It is quadruple distilled in small batches with English Winter wheat and water from Lake Vyrnmy in Wales and then triple charcoal filtered.  Natural chocolate flavor is infused in Lawrenceburg Indiana where it is bottled at 70 proof. Review: Iceberg Icefusion Chocolate Mint Vodka

Iceberg Chocolate Mint - CopyIceberg Icefusion Chocolate Mint vodka is one of three vodka flavors they distill in Canada along with an unflavored vodka, two rums, and a gin.  Their other flavored vodkas include a Cucumber, and Crème Brulee.  It is made with Canadian grown corn and pure water melted from icebergs harvested after they have naturally separated from their mother iceberg.  This water has been frozen for 12,000 years and it is 7000 times more pure than tap water.  Natural chocolate and mint flavors are then infused before bottling at 70 proof. Review: 360 Double Chocolate Vodka

360 double chololate - Copy360 Double Chocolate vodka was introduced October 2010.  It is made in Weston Missouri by Earth Friendly Distilling, a division of McCormick Distilling.  Their commitment to the environment includes using bottles made from recycled glass and labels made from recycled paper printed with a water based ink.  360 Double Chocolate starts with American grain that is quadruple distilled and filtered five times before it is infused with a double dose of natural chocolate flavor.  Based on the bottles label I’m guessing the Double Chocolate name refers to White and Dark Chocolate.
