Review: Ida Graves Vodka

Ida Graves Vodka is small single batch distilled on a 150 gallon still from 100% raw wildflower honey sourced from Minnesota honey farms.  Ida Graves Distillery was founded by Brock Berglund and Anna Wilson over pizza in 2016.  The distillery rests on seventy seven acres near the shores of Lake Ida in Alexandria Minnesota.  They currently also produce Amaro, Aquavit, and Gin. Review: Hatch Vodka

Hatch Vodka is distilled from 100% Wisconsin Honey produced by 10 million Door County honey bees at Hatch Distilling Company.  Chris Roedl opened his distillery in 2018.  He grew up working in his family’s egg production business in Lake Mills Wisconsin.  Prior to founding Hatch, Chris was COO for Door Peninsula Winery, and Door County Distillery.  Hatch also crafts Gin with a honey spirit base and locally foraged botanicals, bourbon, and apple brandy with grains and apples sourced from local organic farms. Review: Barr Hill Vodka

Barr Hill Vodka was introduced in 2012.  Todd Hardie, Caledonia Spirits Founder spent over 40 years as a beekeeper before deciding to craft spirits from his raw organic Vermont honey.  The Caledonia Spirits Distillery is located on the banks of the Lamoille River in Hardwick Vermont.  In late summer each year the distillery takes delivery of hundreds of barrels of pure raw honey.  It takes 4-5 pounds of raw honey to craft one bottle of vodka.  The honey is cold fermented for over 3 weeks and small batch distilled, first in a pot still and then in a custom column still.  Their recipe depends on two simple principles, they never heat the honey prior to distillation, and they never distill more than twice.
