It is crafted from locally grown sugar beets that travel from farm fields to a cooperative where they are processed into granulated beet sugar. The beet sugar is then dissolved into water and nutrients. After a 2 week fermentation it is distilled three times and then blended with filtered water. The vodka is filtered through active carbon and bottled at 80 proof. 20% of the worlds sugar production comes from sugar beets, with Russia, France, and the United States producing the most.The aroma is creamy vanilla frosting. The sweet vanilla entry has a soft creamy feel. The flavor builds to a vanilla frosted yellow cake peak. The fade is smooth and clean with a touch of chocolate flavor. It finishes with a warm peppery sting with a mineral feel and anise flavor. This is a sweet and tasty vodka that could pass for a vanilla flavored vodka. While sweet from the sugar beet base, I don’t find Bet Vodka to be oversweet.
