Review: Skatter Brain Peanut Butter Chocolate Pretzel Whiskey
One of the advantages of carrying 3000 different spirits is it encourages innovation. That is exactly what Total Wine and More does. If you have ever walked their aisles you will see hundreds of spirits you will never find on other stores shelves. The Skatter Brain line of flavored whiskey is just one example. Bottled by Universal Brands in Princeton Minnesota Skatter Brain Peanut Butter Chocolate Pretzel is made from a Canadian whisky base with natural flavors and caramel color. This is Skatter Brain’s fourth peanut butter flavored whiskey, so I’m guessing the other three are selling well. The aroma leads with peanut butter and salted caramel. Additional time brings out milk chocolate. The milk chocolate and Canadian whiskey entry is sweet but not syrupy. Peanut butter arrives building to a chocolate, HK Anderson peanut butter filled pretzel, and chewy caramel peak. It fades with chocolate and finishes with subtle oak, crunchy pretzel, and Reece’s Peanut Butter Cup.
