Review: Texas Ranger Peanut Butter Whiskey

Texas Ranger Peanut Butter Whiskey is crafted at Rebecca Creek Distillery in San Antonio Texas.  Rebecca Creek Distillery was founded by Steve Ison October 2009.  Enchanted Rock Vodka was the first spirit they released in 2010.  They currently produce 6 Enchanted Rock flavored vodka varieties,  They also produce Rebecca Creek Whiskey, Texas Ranger 1823 Blended Whiskey and 3 flavored whiskey varieties including Peanut Butter, Coconut Pecan, and Peach.  Each of the flavored whiskeys start with the Texas Ranger Blended whiskey base.  This base is described as a Canadian style whiskey.  It is made from sourced whiskeys blended and reduced to proof with pure limestone filtered Edwards Aquifer water.  The whiskey is finished with a proprietary chill filtration process.  Natural flavors including real peanuts are blended before bottling at 70 proof. Review: Knucklenoggin Peanut Butter Whiskey

Knucklenoggin Peanut Butter Whiskey is the 31st Peanut Butter flavored whiskey we have reviewed.  Every time I think we are catching up, three new peanut butter whiskeys are released.  Knucklenoggin Peanut Butter is one of three flavored whiskeys created by Master Distiller Ricardo Gamarra.  Knucklenoggin Salted Caramel was first when it was introduced March 2020.  Peanut Butter was launched July 2021, and Kettle Corn is the newest flavor.  Ricardo Gamarra is probably best known as the Master Distiller behind AsomBroso Tequila.  Knucklenoggin Peanut Butter is made from a blend of aged whiskeys carefully selected.  Natural Peanut Butter flavors are infused before bottling at 70 proof. Review: Foggy Mountain Peanut Butter Whiskey

Foggy Mountain Peanut Butter Whiskey was launched August 2020.  It is one of five flavored whiskeys produced by the Foggy Mountain Spirit Company in Boyne Falls Michigan.  The others include Salted Caramel, Bonfire Cinnamon, Peach, and Coffee.  They also produce Latitude 45 Vodka, Gin, and Rum.  Foggy Mountain Peanut Butter is made with natural peanut extract. Review: Ballotin Chocolate Peanut Butter Cream

Ballotin Chocolate Peanut Butter Cream was released April 2021.  It is one of eight chocolate flavored whiskies flying the Ballotin banner.  The others include Bourbon Ball, Caramel Turtle, Chocolate Cherry Cream, Chocolate Mint, Chocolate Mocha Cream, and Original Chocolate.  Paul Tuell a former brand manager for Brown-Forman founded Saloon Spirits April 2015 in Louisville Kentucky.  Each bottle of Ballotin starts with a sourced whiskey made from a traditional Bourbon mash with at least 51% corn.  Wheat and barley make up the balance.  The whiskey is aged for three years in previously used oak barrels.  Chocolate peanut butter cream liqueur made from real dairy cream is blended before bottling at 34 proof. Review: Skatter Brain Peanut Butter Cream Liqueur

Skatter Brain Peanut Butter Cream Liqueur was recently released.  It is one of five Skatter Brain spirits made from a Canadian whisky base.  All are sold at Total Wine and More locations throughout the US.  The other whiskey varieties include Skatter Brain Peanut Butter, PB&J, Dark Cherry Vanilla, & Dark Chocolate Banana.  Each is made by Universal Brands in Princeton Minnesota.  As peanut butter flavored whiskey sales continue to grow we have seen several brands add a secondary flavor to their peanut butter whiskey.  In this case cream is the secondary flavor added.  Skatter Brain Peanut Butter Cream Liqueur is not the first to add cream to their peanut butter flavored whiskey, and they will not be the last. Review: Skatter Brain PB&J Whiskey

Skatter Brain PB&J Whiskey is described as a peanut butter and raspberry jelly flavored whiskey.  It joins Skatter Brain Peanut Butter Whiskey and Skatter Brain Dark Cherry Vanilla Whiskey on the store shelves of the 219 Total Wine and More stores located in 27 states in the US.  Not only is this the first peanut butter and jelly flavored whiskey, Skatter Brain is the first to offer two varieties of peanut butter whiskey.  What’s next Peanut Butter Banana flavored Whiskey?  Skatter Brain PB&J is made from a Canadian whiskey base with natural flavors and caramel color added.  It is made by Universal Brands in Princeton Minnesota. Review: Two Trees Peanut Butter Whiskey

Two Trees Peanut Butter Whiskey is one of nine flavored whiskeys made at Two Trees Distilling in Fletcher North Carolina.  The other flavors include Sea Salted Caramel, Candy Apple, Scorched Brown Sugar, Carolina Peach, Michigan Cherry, Cinnamon Spice, Golden Honey, and Crisp Apple.  Chad Slagle and Keith Mort created a proprietary process that mirrors and accelerates the natural process that occurs when whiskey is aged in wooden barrels.  The physical changes in the liquid that typically take years to achieve, they can accomplish in a single working day.  While no alcohol is distilled in their 23,000 square foot distillery, they toast and char every bit of wood used.  Read more »

Review: PB Chocolati

PB Chocolati is a chocolate and peanut butter flavored whiskey that was released November 2020.  It is produced and bottled in Spring Valley California by SARP LLC.  It is made with American Whiskey, dark chocolate, allergen free peanuts, and pure cane sugar.  It is currently available in the San Diego area or through several online retailers.  This is the only spirit they currently produce.  The success of another California flavored whiskey, Skrewball, has led dozens of others to produce their own peanut butter whiskey.  A handful of these companies have also added chocolate to their peanut butter flavored whiskey. Review: Copper Still Chocolate Peanut Butter Whiskey

Copper Still Chocolate Peanut Butter Whiskey is made from hand selected barrels of Indiana Bourbon blended with chocolate and natural peanut butter flavoring.  It is produced by Copper Mountain Beverages and bottled by Best Vineyards in Elizabeth New Jersey.  Copper Mountain Beverages was formed in 2004 when they decided to start producing a line of beer.  Four O was the first brand.  They now produce 12 beer brands, Suavecito Tequila, Country Fair Lemon Shake Up, Firebreather Cinnamon whiskey, Mallet Straight Bourbon, Doc Whiskey, several wine brands and Mad Hard Seltzer.  The Copper Still Brand also includes a Peach, Caramel, and a 90 proof single barrel straight bourbon. Review: Coastal Creek Peanut Butter Whiskey

Coastal Creek Peanut Butter Whiskey was just released.  It is a private label brand sold exclusively at Total Wine & More.  CEO Steve Jackson sampled half a dozen formulas before selecting his favorite blend.  It is made from a six month barrel aged Kentucky whiskey blended with a natural peanut extract sourced from London.  While Coastal Creek is currently produced in Wisconsin the blending and bottling will soon move to a new distillery in Baltimore Maryland along with several other brands they produce including Ernie Els Iced Coffee, and IC Iced Coffee.
