Review: Delaney’s Classic Irish Cream Liqueur

by Jeff Ellingson

010Delaney’s Classic Irish Cream was introduced in 1999 and made in Abbeyleix Ireland I’ve only seen it in Kroger and Kroger brand food stores.  Made by First Ireland Spirits, very little information is available about this product. The aroma is chocolate whipped cream and whiskey.  Delaney’s pours thick to a pale chocolate milk color.  In my mouth it feels like a fluffy cloud.  This is possibly the thickest Irish cream I’ve tasted.  The flavor is whipped cream and milk chocolate finishing with a full Irish whiskey burst.

Great tasting Irish Cream. Has a bit of a punch to it which is good. Much better than Bailey’s. As was mentioned seemingly only available at Kroger.

Noticed this for the first time tonight at the Kroger Liquor Store. Normally priced at $13.99 (750ml, 17% alc by vol), it was on sale for $9.99, which beat the other sales on Carolyn’s, Saint Brendan’s and Ryan’s by at least $2.

Now here’s the best part: I got up to the register, and the clerk had a stack of $3 off coupons! (exp 1-31-16)
$6.99 for 750 ml Irish Cream Liqueur? Holy cow! So I did what any smart lassie would do, I bought 2 for less than $14 all told!

But even better — this stuff tastes fantastic! Rich and creamy, with a nice kick to it. (It must be a special Kroger manufacturer — as I believe Fry’s is also part of the Kroger Foods empire now!) Highly recommended!
