Review: Tower Vodka

by Jeff Ellingson

Tower Vodka was just launched.  It is crafted in Pilot Point Texas.  The town is located at the highest point in a series of rolling hills.  A water tower looms above Pilot Point Texas and is the inspiration for Tower Vodka.  Tower is made from corn and is micro batch distilled six times.  Distribution is currently limited.  Your best chance of finding a bottle will be in Texas or at a Total Wine and More store. The aroma is subtle corn and marshmallow.  The sweet creamy corn entry is joined by vanilla taffy flavor.  It fades with a sprinkle of pepper flavor but very little heat, and a mild sting, with a just a hint of charcoal, on the smooth, crisp, marshmallow tasting finish.  This is a tasty vodka that is priced to mix, but crafted to sip on the rocks.

A couple of weeks ago I saw an advertisement for Tower Vodka, today I purchased a bottle to try – very, very good.
I am a Martini drinker for more than 30 years, generally using Tanqueray Gin. But occasionally have a Vodka Martini, usually using a Russian product by the name of Zyr. It is excellent.
Your Tower Vodka has all the “trimmings” very smooth.
    So keep it up, congratulations.

I used to purchase Tower Vodka at my local liquor store for $16.99. Total Wine went to Tower and said they would order a
minimum of 50 cases per store. Tower – being the liquor whores they are said great! Now all stores must purchase 50 cases
at a time. Totally closed out the market to small liquor stores. Now Total Wine price is $24.95 that’s a 49% increase from the
original price. Don’t bother to go to the Tower Vodka web site and complain ……. it’s a single page, no contact info.
Tower Vodka was a decent drink at $16.99 a bottle, run of the mill and trendy at $24.95, don’t bother. Total Wine and
Tower are insulting the consumer! SEE YA!
