Review: Smirnoff Seltzer Neon Lemonade Variety Pack

by Jeff Ellingson

The Smirnoff Seltzer Neon Lemonade Variety Pack was released last month.  Smirnoff has been making hard seltzer since they introduced their Spiked and Sparkling Seltzer in three flavors November 2016.  Those flavors were Cranberry Lime, Watermelon, and Orange Mango.  They have continued to tweak their recipes over the years, but they continue to produce their seltzer with a premium malt base.  This is the same alcohol base they use in their Smirnoff Ice brand.  Mikes Hard Lemonade also is made from a premium malt base.  Most of the hard seltzers on the market today start with a fermented sugar or dextrose alcohol base.  Smirnoff Seltzer Neon Lemonade is sold in a 4 flavor 12 can variety pack.  Each 12 ounce slim can weighs in with 4.5% alcohol, 99 calories, and 2% juice concentrate.

Smirnoff Seltzer Pink Lemonade:  The aroma leads with sweetened lemonade and smashed red berries.  The sweet lemonade and raspberry entry builds to a tart strawberry jam and lemonade peak.  It fades with sugary lemonade and finishes with lemon juice, lemon sour patch kids, and gummi red raspberries taste.

Grade: B+

Smirnoff Seltzer Pineapple Lemonade:  The aroma leads with sweetened lemonade and canned pineapple juice.  Additional time brings out a malt backing.  The sweet lemonade entry is joined by juicy pineapple building to a tart and sugary lemon and tangy pineapple peak.  It fades with lemon sorbet and finishes with pineapple juice and Lemon Starburst.

Grade: B

Smirnoff Seltzer Blue Raspberry Lemonade:  The aroma leads with sweetened lemonade.  Additional time brings out blue raspberry licorice twists notes.  The sweet lemonade entry builds to a tart lemonade and blue raspberry slushies peak.  It fades with Lemonheads candy and finishes with sweetened lemonade and blue raspberry sour patch straws.

Smirnoff Seltzer Peach Lemonade:  The aroma leads with peach tea.  Sweetened lemonade follows.  The sweet canned peaches entry is joined by lemonade building to a peach bubblegum and lemonade peak.  It fades with peach gummy and finishes with sweetened lemonade and peach nectar taste.
