Skyy Infusions Texas Grapefruit vodka was just launched with their Pacific Blueberry flavor. It is one of 15 flavors they now offer in their growing line of flavored vodka. Skyy crafts their vodka with Midwestern grown wheat and water filtered through reverse osmosis. They quadruple distill and triple filter their vodka through California limestone. All natural flavors including red Texas grapefruit picked at it’s flavor peak, are then infused before bottling at 70 proof.The aroma is fresh squeezed grapefruit with a hint of black pepper. The flavor enters with a lightly sweetened grapefruit taste. This brings back childhood memories of my mom slicing a grapefruit in half and placing it in a bowl. She would then cut each individual section of grapefruit with a knife to make it easier to scoop up with a spoon. Before serving it to me she would lightly sprinkle sugar to balance the tartness of the grapefruit. While there is no vodka flavor there is a gentle mouth warming before fading with sweet orange juice and tart grapefruit with a long finish that is both smooth and naturally sweet tasting.
