It is sold in 4 packs of 16 ounce cans and is brewed with pure cane sugar, molasses, spices, and botanicals. Row Hard is brewed without grain and it is gluten free. If it seems like I just reviewed a hard root beer, you are correct. Row Hard is my fifth hard root beer review, and I know of at least one other brand currently on the market. Based on the success of Not Your Fathers Root Beer, I expect to review many more.It pours to a very dark almost black brown color, with a medium tan head that takes a long time to dissipate. The aroma is vanilla custard, sassafras, and wintergreen, with an ale backing. The vanilla pudding flavored entry is joined by molasses, and sassafras with a touch of beer flavor arriving at the midpoint. It fades with more root beer flavor and finishes with wintergreen and licorice taste. Row Hard Root Beer is a tasty hard root beer that feels much lighter than the 6.7% alcohol it weighs in at. The overall taste is similar to a vanilla flavored root beer. How long before someone crafts a Hard Dr. Pepper?
