Review: High Noon Tequila Seltzer

by Jeff Ellingson

High Noon Tequila Seltzer was just launched.  It is made with Real Fruit Juice, Real Blanco Tequila, sparkling water, and natural flavors.  The tequila is sourced from Destileria Leyros.  This distillery crafts tequila for 28 brands including one of my favorites, Casa Dragones.  High Noon Tequila Seltzer is available in a 4 flavor 8 can mix pack.  The four featured flavors are Lime, Strawberry, Grapefruit, and Passion Fruit.  After selling 500,000 cases of the vodka based High Noon in 2019, they sold 16.4 million cases in 2022, including an 85% increase last year alone.  With hard seltzer brand leaders White Claw and Truly both launching vodka seltzers it will be hard for High Noon to continue growing at this pace.  That is unless they introduce a Tequila Seltzer.

High Noon Lime Tequila Seltzer:  The aroma leads with agave and sliced lime.  The sweet and tart lime is joined by agave building to a ranch water peak.  I taste real blanco tequila not just agave or agave flavor.  If you are a fan of this West Texas born cocktail save yourself the time of mixing one and pop the top of an ice cold can of High Noon Lime Tequila Seltzer.

Grade: A

High Noon Grapefruit Tequila Seltzer:  The aroma leads with fresh squeezed grapefruit.  Additional time brings out vanilla and agave.  The sweet grapefruit entry builds to a tart grapefruit and agave peak.  It fades with creamy tequila and juicy grapefruit and finishes with tangy grapefruit, blanco tequila, and grapefruit zest.

Grade: A

High Noon Strawberry Tequila Seltzer:  The aroma leads with strawberry bubblegum.  Additional time brings out citrus and agave.  The sweet strawberry entry is joined by citrus building to a strawberry margarita peak.  It fades with ripe strawberry and citrus, finishing with blanco tequila, strawberry jam, and lemon peel taste.

Grade: B+

High Noon Passion Fruit Tequila Seltzer:  The aroma leads with sliced passion fruit.  Additional time brings out blood orange, vanilla, and agave.  The sweet passion fruit entry has notes of kiwi and pear.  Agave arrives at the midpoint.  It fades with vanilla, agave and pineapple and finishes with tangy pineapple, and passion fruit with ripe pear, blanco tequila, and blood orange.
