Denizen Aged White rum starts with rum column distilled at the Angostura Distillery in Trinidad. The rum is aged up to five years in American oak barrels previously used to age bourbon and charcoal filtered. The rum is blended in Amsterdam with 15 types of Jamaican pot distilled rums. Rum blending has taken place in the Netherlands since the early 1700’s.The aroma is vanilla, oak, molasses, coconut, and pineapple. The oak and green olive entry is joined by sugar cane and vanilla. Coconut and pineapple flavor arrive at the midpoint. It fades with citrus and a warm sting that carries through a dry finish with mineral, oak, and vanilla taste. Denizen Aged White Rum is crafted with 16 rums and it offers nearly as many flavors, but in the end oak is one of the most prominent.
