Review: Ciroc Vodka Spritz

by Jeff Ellingson

Ciroc Vodka Spritz was launched April 2022.  It is crafted with French Vodka made from French grapes, natural flavors, sparkling water, and certified colors.  It is currently available in individual flavor four packs, with four flavor varieties including Sunset Citrus, Pineapple Passion, Colada, and Watermelon Kiwi.  Each can weighs in with 7% alcohol and 172 calories.  After reviewing every Ciroc flavored vodka produced so far with the exception of their Grapefruit flavor, which for some reason is only available overseas, we look forward to Diddy aka Sean Love Combs take on canned vodka cocktails.

Ciroc Sunset Citrus Spritz:  It pours to a bright orange color.  The aroma leads with orange fresh sliced orange.  Mandarin and peach follow.  The sweet orange entry builds to a juicy orange and peach peak.  It fades with tangy tangerine and finishes with mild vodka and orange sherbet taste.

Grade: B+

Ciroc Colada Spritz:  The aroma leads with pineapple wedges and creamy coconut.  The sweet pineapple entry builds to a juicy pineapple and creamy coconut peak.  It fades with tangy pineapple and finishes with sour pineapple juice, mild vodka, and coconut frosting.

Grade: A-

Ciroc Pineapple Passion:  It pours to a Mellow Yellow soda color.  The aroma leads with smashed pineapple.  Additional time brings out passion fruit notes.  The sweet pineapple entry builds to a pineapple bubblegum peak.  It fades with pineapple candy and finishes with mild vodka, sour pineapple juice, passion fruit, and orange peel taste.

Grade: B-

Ciroc Watermelon Kiwi Spritz:  It pours to a bright pink color.  The aroma leads with fresh sliced watermelon and Jolly Rancher Watermelon candy.  The sweetened watermelon entry is joined by kiwi cotton candy flavor building to a Watermelon Jolly Rancher peak.  It fades with strawberry and watermelon licorice flavor and finishes with mild vodka and Watermelon Kool-Ade and tangy kiwi syrup taste.  This one is by far the sweetest of the four.

Grade: C

The Bottom Line:  On a sweetness spectrum each flavor of Ciroc Vodka Spritz falls on the sweet side.  At 7% alcohol Ciroc Vodka Spritz has 40% more alcohol than a traditional 5% hard seltzer.  At 172 calories it contains 72% more calories than a typical 100 calorie hard seltzer.  While I don’t taste much more alcohol I do taste much more sweetness than your average hard seltzer.
