Each is made with Caribbean rum that is shipped to the US where natural flavors and certified colors are blended before bottling at 60 proof. It pours to a bright green color. The aroma is lime lollipop, and Jolly Rancher green apple candy, with a white rum backing. The candy sweet entry bursts from the glass with Jolly Rancher Green Apple flavor that fades with lime Popsicle taste. It finishes warm and very sweet with rum flavor and a mild burn. Captain Morgan Apple Smash is very sweet and sugary and not something I would enjoy as a sipper, but that is not what it was designed for. Apple Smash was made to shoot or mix with club soda. Served cold in a shot glass there is very little burn. If the competition is Jagermeister, or Malort, I’ll pick this one. Priced at the $13.99 I paid for a 750 ml bottle, it is also much cheaper.
