Review: Callahans Irish Cream Liqueur

by Jeff Ellingson

Callahans Irish Cream Liqueur is crafted by First Ireland Spirits in Abbeyleix County Laois.  This is the same house that creates the previously reviewed Feeney’s, O’Mara’s, Delaney’s, and McCormicks Irish Cream Liqueurs.  Callahans Irish Cream is a private label brand imported by World Spirits LTD.  Little product information is provided on the bottle and there is not a website for Callahans or World Spirits LTD.  It pours to a thick milky beige color.  The thick and luxurious chocolate and fresh cream entry is joined by whiskey flavor.  It fades with dark chocolate, coconut cream, and caramel, finishing with more whiskey taste than most other Irish Creams.  This is a very tasty thick and creamy Irish Cream that doesn’t bury the Irish Whiskey taste.
