Review: Dented Brick Glitter Disco Nut Rum
Dented Brick Glitter Disco Nut Rum was released July 2020. We previously reviewed their original 50 proof formula. They tweaked the recipe and reduced the alcohol to 46 proof while keeping the good stuff. Stuff like the 81 proof light rum base distilled from sugar cane molasses in the US Virgin Islands. The coconut syrup made with real coconut, and of course the edible glitter. Dented Brick also crafts Glitter Pineapple Rum. It pours to a cloudy shimming white glittery lava lamp color. The aroma leads with coconut syrup and vanilla custard. The sugar enhanced coconut water entry is thin without the anticipated syrupy feel. Vanilla and marshmallow arrive building to a milky coconut macaroons peak. It fades with brown sugar, tropical pineapple, toasted coconut, and vanilla custard and finishes with gentle warmth, coconut gelato, and a mild white rum burn. The problem with some coconut flavored rums is they are so sweet on their own its hard to add sweet ingredients for a cocktail. That’s not the case here. The shimmering glitter in DB Glitter Disco Nut is the headliner, but the star of the show is the real natural tasting coconut flavor in DB Glitter Disco Nut Rum.
