Van Gogh Pomegranate vodka was the second pomegranate flavored vodka when it was introduced October 2006. Pearl Persephone was the first. It is one of 22 flavored vodka’s they craft in Holland. A blend of wheat, corn, barley, and purified water is double distilled in a column still. A third distillation in a copper pot still in small batches follows. Imported pomegranate from Spain, along with strawberry, cranberry and orange are infused with the vodka using a six week double infusion process before bottling at 70 proof.It pours to an orange red color. The aroma is pomegranate, strawberry and citrus. The flavor leads with sweet natural pomegranate and is joined by strawberry building to a tart peak before fading with some orange flavor. The finish is smooth with very little heat and some tart cranberry and pomegranate taste. Once again Van Gogh has created a masterpiece.
