Review: Pinnacle Peppermint Bark Vodka

by Jeff Ellingson

Pinnacle peppermint barkPinnacle Peppermint Bark is their fifth and newest winter seasonal flavored vodka.  While I am not usually a big fan of mint flavored products, one exception I make each year is peppermint bark.  The layered treat of premium chocolate, white chocolate and crushed peppermint candy is a holiday favorite.  Pinnacle hopes their peppermint bark will become a new holiday tradition. In the bottle the aroma is peppermint and white chocolate.  Poured in my glass I pick up chocolate with a hint of alcohol.  The initial flavor is white chocolate and candy cane followed by chocolate mint giving way to a little stronger vodka finish than I anticipated from a Pinnacle brand vodka.  While sweet I would not describe the flavor as over sweetened.  The taste is accurate and while imitation flavored I don’t get that artificial flavoring taste.  As a shot this is a great alternative to peppermint schnapps.  Mixed with hot chocolate the chocolate minty flavor comes through with the cocoa providing the only heat.
