It was first sold in 1999 to V&S, and again in 2008 to Pernod Richard, the parent company of Absolut vodka. They use a six column distillation process that continuously freeze distills the vodka at 14 degrees. The fusel oils, a by-product of the fermentation process, freeze into a solid mass and are removed, leaving a clean pure vodka. Whipped cream flavor is then added before bottling at 70 proof.The aroma is vanilla and whipped cream. The flavor is sweet whipped cream building to a light creamy vanilla peak. I would describe the overall flavor as understated. This is not as sweet as some of the other whipped cream flavored vodkas, so it will complement instead of compete with other ingredients in your cocktail. This is a very smooth vodka that fades with a hint of vodka flavor and a mild mouth warming on the finish. This was my first taste of a Fris vodka, but it won’t be my last.
