Review: 3 Howls Banana Vodka

3 Howls Banana Vodka - Copy3 Howls Banana Vodka was launched October 2013 along with their Blood Orange Vodka and Good Old Fashioned Gin.  Their distillery was founded in 2013 in the heart of Seattle’s SoDo neighborhood.  The 5000 square foot distillery also crafts a Spiced Rum, Gold Rum, Rye Whiskey, Hopped Whiskey, and Vodka.  The name and logo are the result of a distillery tour, co-owner and company founder Will Maschmeier had in Isla Scotland.  There he heard the story of Cu-Sith, a giant hound who roams Scotland’s Highlands and Moors.  Legend has it the beast howls three times before taking souls to the underworld.  3 Howls Banana vodka is crafted with a corn grain mash bill.  It is distilled 7 times in a 300 gallon copper still.  The vodka is vapor infused through Real banana, clove, cinnamon, and vanilla beans in the final distillation.  Caramelized sugar is then added after the distillation process.  (less than 2%).  No glycerine is added.  3 Howls is hand bottled, labeled, and packaged at 80 proof. Review: Hamptons Banana Vodka

006Hamptons Banana vodka was introduced in 2004.  It was the first of four vodka flavors they currently create.  The others are Cherry Vanilla, Choco Raspberry, and Banana Strawberry.  The Banana Strawberry flavor is their newest and it is the flavor I actually wanted to try, but my source was out of stock.  Hampton started crafting vodka in 1999 and they also make a gin and an unflavored vodka.  After reading the back of the bottle I see all of these products are now distilled and bottled in Grand Rapids Michigan.  Hamptons uses 100% yellow corn that is distilled and then quadruple filtered with double filtered pure spring water added, before naturally grown ingredients are added and it is bottled at 80 proof.
