Review: Crater Lake Hazelnut Espresso Vodka

Crater Lake Hazelnut Espresso Vodka is one of three flavor infused vodkas made at the Bendistillery in Tumalo Oregon from their original Crater Lake vodka base.  The other flavors include Sweet Ginger and Pepper.  The Bendistillery has been crafting spirits since 1998 and besides their own spirits they craft over 40 private label spirits including Fuzzys Ultra Premium and Venom Vodka.  The Crater Lake vodka base is made from 100% corn, distilled five times, and filtered ten times before resting in oak.  Pure Cascade water is blended to reduce to proof .  Fresh brewed espresso and hazelnuts are then infused.  A touch of pure cane brown sugar is blended before bottling at 50 proof.  Read more »

Review: Crater Lake Reserve Vodka

Crater Lake Reserve Vodka is crafted at the Bendistillery in Bend Oregon.  While Batch 333 was created as another batch of Crater Lake Vodka, by mistake the vodka was left to filter over 100 times through charcoal and crushed lava rock.  The result was a vodka with extraordinary purity and smoothness.  This vodka was originally sold as Diamond 100 Vodka.  Now named Crater Lake Reserve, it is made from corn and distilled five times.  After filtering 100 times through charcoal and crushed lava rock, pure Cascade Mountain water is blended to reduce to 80 proof.  The vodka is then briefly rested in oak before bottling. Review: Crater Lake Vodka

crater-lake-vodka-copyCrater Lake Vodka was released in 1996.  It is crafted at the Bendistillery in Tumalo Oregon.  They also produce gin, several flavored vodka’s, and whiskey and the Bendistillery is a strong Private Label producer of spirits with over 40 brands created there.  Crater Lake Vodka is made from corn and distilled five times and then filtered ten times through charcoal and lava rock, then briefly rested in oak.  Pure Cascade Mountain water is blended to reduce to 80 proof.  Founder and distiller Jim Bendis launched Crater Lake Vodka before it was cool to open a distillery, and he crafted his vodka with corn, long before Deep Eddy, and 1 year before Tito Beverage launched Tito’s Vodka.   Read more »
