Review: Meili Vodka
Meili Vodka, pronounced May-Lee, was founded by Jason Momoa, “Khal Drogo” on Game of Thrones, and Blaine Halvorson founder of MadeWorn, a luxury lifestyle brand. The two have been friends for 10 years. It is distilled at Dry Hills Distillery in Bozeman Montana from spring hard red wheat, corn, and barley grown on the distillers family farm, and unprocessed spring water. After distillation the vodka rests in stainless steel tanks before bottling in 100% post consumer recycled bottles. The aroma leads with malt, whole wheat bread and sweet corn. The sweet Malt O Meal cereal and vanilla entry builds to a citrus, cocoa, and toasted grain peak. It fades with orange and chocolate pastry and finishes with mineral, saline, sweet corn, chocolate malt, blueberry, and orange peel. Meili is a well crafted original, smooth, and very tasty vodka that lets the natural taste of its grains shine through.
