He later became Chairman of Duncan Taylor. In 2006 Moji Shand, a Los Angeles lawyer traveled to Scotland with several friends to tour several distilleries where she met Euan. By 2011 they were married. In 2012 Moji Shand Founded Shand Imports. In 2023 they traveled to Guadalajara Mexico with Business Partner Peter Currie. They partnered with Tequilera de Los Altos Casa Loy to create the brand. Dama Fortuna translates to Lucky Lady in Spanish. Dama Fortuna is made from 100% agave grown at an elevation between 4500 and 6000 feet above sea level on a 15,000 acre single estate. The agave is slow cooked in brick ovens. The juice is expeller screw extracted. After fermenting open air without fibers in stainless steel tanks, the spirit is double distilled in copper lined pot stills. The spirit is reduced to proof with deep well water sourced 210 feet below and non-chill filtered before bottling. The aroma leads with cooked agave. Additional time brings out citrus, mint, cocoa, and black pepper. The sweet agave entry is joined by citrus and herbal notes building to a chocolate and citrus peak. It fades with sea salt, cinnamon, and honey and finishes with lemon peel, bell pepper, cocoa, and black pepper.
