Review: Asesinato Tequila Blanco

by Jeff Ellingson

Asesinato Tequila was founded by Danny Warsnop, lead singer of Asking Alexandria, and fellow musician Cory Williams.  They spent 2 years developing the brand.  Asesinato is distilled at Destiladora Del Valle de Tequilla, AKA Casa Maestri.  This distillery produces tequila for 222 different brands.  Asesinato Tequila Blanco is currently available in Florida and Alabama.  Asesinato is made from 100% agave grown in both the highland and lowland region.  The agave is slow roasted in traditional brick ovens, fermented in stainless steel tanks, double distilled in copper pot stills, and bottled additive free.  The aroma leads with cooked agave, and bell pepper.  Additional time brings out green olive, black pepper, and vanilla notes.  The sweet vanilla and agave entry builds to a citrus and herbal agave peak.  It fades with pepper, olive, and mineral, and finishes with citrus, vanilla, sea salt, and black pepper.
