Review: Tower Vodka

Tower Vodka was just launched.  It is crafted in Pilot Point Texas.  The town is located at the highest point in a series of rolling hills.  A water tower looms above Pilot Point Texas and is the inspiration for Tower Vodka.  Tower is made from corn and is micro batch distilled six times.  Distribution is currently limited.  Your best chance of finding a bottle will be in Texas or at a Total Wine and More store. Review: Titos Vodka

Titos vodka - CopyTitos Vodka is made is Austin Texas at the states first and oldest legal distillery.  When Tito’s was launched in 1997, it’s owner Tito Beverage was $88,000 in debt having maxed out 19 credit cards to start the business.  Tito’s is crafted in small batches from 100% corn and water sourced from deep aquifers.  It is distilled six times in an old fashioned home made pot still and then filtered through activated carbon to remove residual impurities. Review: Deep Eddy Vodka

deep eddy - CopyDeep Eddy vodka was introduced May 2011.  Unlike most vodka distillers Deep Eddy launched the company with a flavored vodka when Clayton Christopher and Chad Auler the founders of Sweet Leaf Tea, and Savvy Vodka, crafted Deep Eddy Sweet Tea and released it in 2010.  While they now create five vodkas, all start with their unflavored vodka base.  Deep Eddy is made with sweet corn and spring water from deep aquifers in Texas Hill country.  It is column distilled ten times in a 20 foot column still, and slowly filtered six times over charcoal.  They recently moved to a 30,000 square foot distillery in Dripping Springs Texas.  Read more »

Review: Dripping Springs Vodka

Dripping Springs vodkaDripping Springs vodka was created by brothers Gary and Kevin Kelleher.  It was introduced in 2007.  It is micro distilled over 20 times in small 50 gallon batches in proprietary handmade copper pot stills with sweet Mid-Western non GMO corn and pure mineral rich artesian spring water.  It is then slow filtered through Swedish activated carbon before bottling at 80 proof.
