Ole Smoky Apple Pie - CopyOle Smoky Apple Pie moonshine is one of 18 varieties of moonshine currently available either onsite at their distillery, or on a regional or national basis.  Ole Smoky also crafts their moonshine at several different alcohol levels ranging from 40 proof, all the way up to their 128 proof Blue Flame.  OS Apple Pie starts with a blend of 80% corn and 20% grain.  It is distilled six times before natural flavors including pure apple juice and ground cinnamon are infused before bottling in their mason jar at 40 proof.It pours to a cloudy golden amber color.  The aroma is cinnamon applesauce.  The flavor enters with equal parts cinnamon and apple building to a tart apple pie peak.  I don’t know how they do it but I also taste the pie crust.  It fades with a gentle mouth warming and a hint of corn moonshine flavor on the finish.  There are several apple pie flavored moonshine on the market today, but there are none that taste this close to apple pie in a glass as Ole Smoky Apple Pie Moonshine.
