Review: Stoli Crushed Pineapple Vodka

Stoli Crushed Pineapple Vodka was just released along with Stoli Crushed Grapefruit.  Unlike their other flavored vodkas, that are made from a winter wheat vodka base, Stoli Crushed is made with a blend of 88 percent corn and 12 percent buckwheat harvested from the fertile farm fields of the Tambov region of Russia.  The vodka is triple distilled and filtered four times through quartz, sand, and birchwood charcoal.  Pure natural spring water from the Latvijas Balzams artesian well in Riva Latvia is blended with the vodka to reduce to 80 proof.  Real juice, natural flavors, certified color and FD&C Yellow No. 5 are added before bottling at 60 proof.  While this is Stoli’s first Pineapple flavored vodka, Dole Pineapple has been infused with Stoli Vodka for years and sold as a Doli Stoli at one of my favorite steakhouses, The Capital Grill. Review: Pinnacle Strawberry Vodka

Pinnacle Strawberry Vodka was released October 2016.  I source spirits for review from over a dozen states.  Distilleries and Wholesalers also send me product for review.  At one time retailers would fight to be the first to stock any new flavor Pinnacle created in their lab.  It has been several years since Pinnacle created a new flavor.  When I heard of the release of Pinnacle Strawberry I searched everywhere to find it.  I just found it tonight at a Total Wine and More in Minnesota.  Pinnacle currently lists over 40 vodka flavors on their website including Kiwi-Strawberry, and Strawberry Shortcake.  Pinnacle Vodka is made from French grown wheat and pure French spring water.  It is distilled five times at Distillerie de la Tour in France.  The vodka base is then shipped to Frankfort Kentucky where natural and artificial flavors are blended before bottling at 70 proof. Review: Pinnacle Vodka

Pinnacle Vodka - CopyPinnacle vodka was launched in 2002 by The White Rock Distillery in Lewiston Maine.  At the time White Rock also owned the Three Olives Vodka brand which they sold to Proximo for $605 million in November 2007.  Once this sale was completed Pinnacle became their lead brand.  Pinnacle was acquired by Beam April 2012 who itself was acquired by Suntory in 2014, forming Beam Suntory.  Having created over 50 flavored vodka’s it may be easy to forget the fact that Pinnacle also creates an unflavored vodka.  This vodka serves as the base for all of their flavored vodka’s.  It is crafted in France with wheat grown in the Brie region of France and it is distilled five times and charcoal filtered.  Pure French water is added before it is shipped to Frankfort Kentucky and bottled at 80 proof. Review: Pinnacle Pomegranate Vodka

Pinnacle pomegranate - CopyPinnacle Pomegranate vodka was one of eight vodka flavors Pinnacle introduced in 2008.  As far as years go, it wasn’t a successful year of flavor introductions for Pinnacle as five of the eight flavors are no longer produced.  Pomegranate, Le Double Espresso, and Mango are the three remaining members of that class.  It is one of over 40 flavors Pinnacle currently makes with French grown wheat that is distilled five times.  Pure French spring water is added before it is shipped to Frankfort Kentucky where natural flavors are added.  Read more »
