Review: Dented Brick Pomegranate Lemonade Vodka
Dented Brick Pomegranate Lemonade Vodka is crafted at Dented Brick Distillery. The distillery is named in honor of the well driller who was responsible for the source of artesian water used in their spirits today. He was killed in a gunfight leaving impressions in the bricks of his house. Some of those bricks were used building their distillery. Marc Christensen founded Dented Brick in 2015 and they currently craft 16 spirits including vodka, gin, whiskey, rum, and their most recent addition tequila. DB Pomegranate Lemonade is created from a vodka base made from 100% locally grown corn distilled on a Vendome Copper & Brass Works still. It is proofed with pure snowmelt from the Wasatch Mountains that flows into the distilleries own artesian well. Natural fruit flavors are blended before bottling onsite at 80 proof. The aroma leads with sugar dipped ripe strawberry, farmers market sweet corn, and fresh squeezed lemonade. The red raspberry entry has a soft mineral water feel. Lemon head candy arrives building to a tart pomegranate and lightly sweetened lemonade peak. It fades with Lemon Drop candy balanced by unsweetened cranberry juice and cherry cough drop. It finishes warm and lightly peppered with lemon juice, Regal Crown Sour Cherry, grape bubblegum, tart pomegranate seed, and creamy corn vodka. Dented Brick Pomegranate Lemonade has notes of hard candy throughout yet it is not as sugary sweet as the Stevia sweetened lemonade hard seltzers are. Bottled at an adult level 80 proof, Dented Brick Pomegranate Lemonade Vodka has enough flavor punch to shine in a tasty cocktail without a syrupy sugar taste from the alcohol base competing with the other ingredients in your favorite craft cocktail.
