Review: Charbay Meyer Lemon Vodka

Charbay Meyer Lemon - CopyCharbay Meyer Lemon vodka is one of six flavored vodka’s the Karakasevic family crafts in Napa Valley with their unflavored vodka as a base.  Their clear vodka is created with Midwest grown corn and rye that is distilled to 192 proof in a 660 gallon still using a proprietary process.  Pure spring water that has been filtered to 3ppm purity is blended to reduce to proof.  Tree ripened Meyer lemons from Central California are shred whole.  The flavor and color is extracted and integrated with their clear vodka.  Meyer lemons are thought to be a cross between a lemon and Mandarin orange. Review: Smirnoff Sours Berry Lemon Vodka

Smirnoff Sours Berry Lemon vodka was just introduced.  It is the fourth flavor in their Sours line of vodka.  The other flavors include the previously reviewed Green Apple, Watermelon, and Fruit Punch.  Each of these flavors starts with their Recipe 21 vodka as a base.  Recipe 21 is made with Midwest grown grain, and is triple distilled and filtered ten times.  Natural flavors and certified colors are added before bottling at 60 proof. Review: Krol Lemon Raspberry Vodka

Krol Lemon Raspberry vodka - CopyKrol Lemon Raspberry vodka is made in Poland with late harvest Polish rye and pure mountain spring water.  It is distilled four times and filtered six times.  Natural lemon and raspberry flavor is infused before bottling at 80 proof.  Krol is Polish for King, and they claim their vodka was a favorite among the Polish aristocracy since the early 1820’s. Review: Hangar One Buddahs Hand Citron Vodka

Hangar One Buddha's Hand Citron Vodka - CopyHangar One Buddahs Hand Citron vodka is one of four vodka’s currently crafted with Midwestern wheat, distilled in a custom built column still, and viognier grapes distilled in a copper pot still.  Hangar One is named after the World War II era hangar at the old Alameda Navel Air Station where is was first created.  Whole Buddah’s Hand Citrus fruit is macerated and infused before bottling at 80 proof.  Buddah’s hand fruit is primarily used to perfume rooms and clothing in China and Japan and is named for the shape of the fruit which appears to look like a hand with fingers. Review: Deep Eddy Lemon Vodka

Deep Eddy Lemon - CopyDeep Eddy Lemon vodka was launched in December at their new 30,000 square foot distillery in Dripping Springs Texas.  They have since started a National roll out.  It is crafted with sweet corn and spring water from deep aquifers in Texas Hill country.  Deep Eddy is column distilled ten times in a 20 foot column still before it is slowly filtered six times over charcoal.  Real lemon juice is infused before bottling at 70 proof. Review: Voli Light Lemon Vodka

Voli light lemon - CopyVoli Light Lemon vodka is one of six reduced calorie vodka flavors that are hand crafted in Cognac France.  The others include Original Lyte, Orange Vanilla, Raspberry Cocoa, Espresso Vanilla, and Mango Coconut.  If the name sounds familiar it might be because of their front man, Mr. World Wide, Pitbull, who is also a majority owner.  These vodka’s weigh in at 60 proof, lighter than the 70-80 proof most other vodka’s tip the scale at.  They also have no sugar added which translates to 80 calories per 1 1/2 oz. serving.  They are made with superior grade French winter wheat and natural spring water.  It is distilled five times and filtered four times before natural flavors and electrolytes are infused. sobieski lemon - CopySobieski Lemon Meringue vodka was introduced with their Toasted Coconut and Black Cherry flavors February 2012.  It is one of twelve vodka flavors made in Stargard Odanski Poland by Sobieski for the US market.  They start with Dankowski Rye and crystalline water from Oligocene Springs.  It is continuously distilled before natural flavors are added.  Sobieski is the number one selling vodka in Poland.
