Review: Grays Peak Meyer Lemon Vodka

Grays Peak Meyer Lemon Vodka is one of 4 spirits in the Grays Peak stable, that includes a straight vodka, and two gins.  It is made from premium corn that is small batch distilled five times and charcoal filtered.  Pure spring water filtered through a proprietary reverse osmosis process that removes any trace minerals typically found in spring water is blended to reduce to proof.  Meyer Lemon flavor is added before bottling at 60 proof.  The Meyer Lemon is native to China and it was introduced to the United States by agricultural explorer Frank Meyer who collected a sample on a trip to China. Review: New Amsterdam Lemon Vodka

New Amsterdam Lemon Vodka was just released.  This is New Amsterdam’s eighth flavored vodka.  A Ninth, Raspberry will arrive next month.  New Amsterdam Vodka sales grew by 36% in 2016 and now exceed 5 million cases per year.  This makes them the second largest domestic vodka brand, trailing only Smirnoff.  Not bad for a vodka first introduced in 2011.  New Amsterdam Lemon starts with a vodka base made from the finest grains.  It is distilled 5 times and filtered 3 times.  Natural lemon flavors are infused before bottling at 70 proof. Review: High Noon Lemon Vodka

High Noon Lemon Vodka was just released in Denver Colorado, Madison Wisconsin, and Charleston South Carolina.  Test marketing in limited markets has been used for years in the food and beverage industry.  Also released is High Noon Ruby Red Grapefruit, and the unflavored High Noon Vodka.  The High Noon brand is owned by E&J Gallo, the makers of New Amsterdam Vodka.  New Amsterdam Vodka was launched in 2011, and in its first year over one million cases were sold.  New Amsterdam continues to be one of the fastest growing vodka brands in the US.  High Noon is produced and bottled at the Holladay Distillery in Weston Missouri.  This is the distillery that also produces 360 Vodka.  High Noon Lemon Vodka is made with a vodka base made from Midwest grown corn.  Real Lemon juice and natural flavors are added.  As an indication of High Noon’s target market their website claims High Noon Lemon Vodka is made with Vodka, Lemons, Sunshine, Trips to the Beach, Sweet Shades, Big Waves, Fluffy Towels, and Light Breezes Perfect for Chuckin a Frisbee.    Read more »
