Review: Svedka Blue Raspberry Vodka

Svedka Blue Raspberry Vodka was just released.  It is one of 14 Svedka flavors currently available.  They also produce an 80 and 100 proof unflavored vodka.  Svedka is the number one imported vodka in the US, and while flavored vodka sales have fallen recently, Svedka’s flavored vodka sales have continued to grow.  Svedka Blue Raspberry vodka starts with a vodka base made from Swedish winter wheat.  Four pounds are required to produce one 750 ml bottle.  The vodka is distilled 5 times in a continuous distillation process.  Ice cold water from Swedish springs is blended to reduce to proof.  The vodka is then run through high performance purification columns five separate times to remove impurities.  Natural flavors are infused before bottling at 70 proof.  Svedka is the fifth vodka brand I am aware of to produce a blue raspberry vodka flavor.  The others include UV, Wave, Burnetts, and Ursus. Review: Pinnacle Strawberry Vodka

Pinnacle Strawberry Vodka was released October 2016.  I source spirits for review from over a dozen states.  Distilleries and Wholesalers also send me product for review.  At one time retailers would fight to be the first to stock any new flavor Pinnacle created in their lab.  It has been several years since Pinnacle created a new flavor.  When I heard of the release of Pinnacle Strawberry I searched everywhere to find it.  I just found it tonight at a Total Wine and More in Minnesota.  Pinnacle currently lists over 40 vodka flavors on their website including Kiwi-Strawberry, and Strawberry Shortcake.  Pinnacle Vodka is made from French grown wheat and pure French spring water.  It is distilled five times at Distillerie de la Tour in France.  The vodka base is then shipped to Frankfort Kentucky where natural and artificial flavors are blended before bottling at 70 proof. Review: Enchanted Rock Peach Vodka

Enchanted Rock Peach Vodka was introduced in 2014.  It is made at the Rebecca Creek Distillery that was founded in 2009 by Steve Ison.  Enchanted Rock is named for the large pink granite rock that shares its name, and is a National Landmark that covers 640 acres in Fredericksburg Texas.  ER Peach is crafted from 100% corn and distilled in a Christian Carl copper pot still.  From there the spirits enter in vapor form under pressure into a modern 6 plate copper column still where the spirit is distilled 10 times.  The flavor is then rounded out using a proprietary 28 degree frost filtration process.  The temperature is first reduced to 28 degrees and then the chilled vodka is passed under pressure through 25 microfiber paper filters.  Pure limestone filtered water is blended to reduce to proof.  Fresh peach juice from Fredericksburg Texas grown peaches is infused with the vodka base before bottling at 70 proof. Review: Heritage Vanilla Vodka

Heritage Vanilla Vodka is one of 22 naturally flavored vodkas released October 31 2014 by Heritage Distilling Company when they opened their waterfront location in downtown Gig Harbor Washington.  While most craft distilleries are satisfied creating 1-4 spirits, a quick glance at the Heritage website shows the nearly 40 spirits they have created since their distillery first opened 4 years ago.  Heritage Vanilla is small batch distilled from wine grapes.  Natural flavors are blended with the vodka base before bottling at 60 proof. Review: Heritage Huckleberry Vodka

Heritage Huckleberry Vodka is one of 23 naturally flavored vodkas crafted at the Heritage Distilling Company in Gig Harbor Washington.  This is the fourth Huckleberry flavored vodka I’m aware of.  Koenig, 360, and 44 North previously released their Huckleberry vodka.  Huckleberries grow on shrubs and are in the Ericaceae family that also includes the blueberry and cranberry.  While Huckleberries take on several different colors including blue and black, those grown in the western portion of North America are typically red.  Heritage Huckleberry is small batch distilled from wine grapes.  Natural flavors are then blended before bottling at 60 proof.  Read more »

Review: Heritage Coffee Vodka

heritage-coffee-vodka-imageHeritage Coffee Vodka is one of 23 naturally flavored vodkas crafted at their distillery in Gig Harbor Washington.  With Starbucks based in nearby Seattle Washington, it should come as no surprise that Heritage Coffee Vodka is their best selling flavored vodka.  65% of Americans drink coffee at breakfast, and the US spends $40 each year on coffee.  I guess the only thing surprising should be that this is my first coffee flavored vodka review.  I have reviewed several Espresso flavored vodkas.  The vodka base for Heritage Coffee is small batch distilled from wine grapes in an Italian made still named Nonna.  Natural flavors are then blended before bottling at 60 proof.
