Skyy Infusions Passion Fruit vodka is one of the five original flavors Skyy introduced in 2008 when they launched their Infusions line of flavored vodka. It is one of 13 flavors they now create with wheat distilled in Pekin Illinois. They then transport the alcohol to San Jose California where water that has been filtered through reverse osmosis is added. They triple distill and filter before infusing with all natural flavors.The aroma is fruit punch with notes of passion fruit and guava. Additional passes bring out both bubble gum and citrus notes. The flavor is a nice blend of passion fruit and guava. The flavor builds as it warms in my mouth to a bubble gum intensity. It peaks with more passion fruit flavor before a citrus fade. A medium mouth warming with a little pepper on the semidry finish that also packs a little burn as it slides down my throat follows. Mix with an equal part orange juice. Shake with ice and add a 1/2 portion of Sprite for a Passion Play, or just add an equal part Diet Sierra Mist which is my lemon lime soda of choice.
