firefly strawberry moonshine - CopyFirefly Strawberry Moonshine is one of six flavors they launched their line of moonshine with on Wadmalaw Island 30 miles south of Charleston South Carolina in March 2013.  It is made with corn, barley, wheat, sugar, and natural flavors in two 300 gallon homemade pot stills.  To handle demand outside of South Carolina, Firefly moonshine is produced and bottled by Sazerac in Frankfort Kentucky.The aroma is frozen strawberry.  The flavor enters with sweet strawberry and a corn flavored backing, building to a tart strawberry peak.  It fades with a mild mouth warming and burn as I swallow, leaving a tart strawberry finish.  Weighing in at 41 proof, this is light enough to drink out of the jar, and flavorful enough, to not get lost in a cocktail.
