Cruzan Peach rum was introduced in March of 2014. It is the industries second peach flavored rum following Bacardi’s Peach Red. Several peach flavored vodka’s were launched last year and this may signal the start of a run on peach flavored rum. Peach is one of 14 flavored rums Cruzan creates in St Croix with Tropical rainwater and high quality molasses using a five column distillation process. Natural peach flavor is then added.The aroma is fresh crushed peach. The flavor leaps from my glass with an explosion of sweet natural tasting peach. While there is a slight syrupy hint of liqueur to this peach flavor it balances nicely with the rum finish which only offers a tickle of burn as it glides down my throat. This is one of the few flavored rums smooth enough to drink on the rocks, but with it’s bold peach flavor it will also stand out when mixed with your favorite fresh juices or carbonated beverages.
