Review: Bonnie Rose Orange Peel Tennessee White Whiskey

by Jeff Ellingson

Bonnie Rose Orange Peel Whiskey - CopyBonnie Rose Orange Peel Tennessee White Whiskey was introduced along with a Spiced Apple flavor April 2015.  It is made from orange peel both cold pressed and distilled.  The whiskey is distilled in copper pot stills using their own proprietary mash with 80% white corn.  It is bottled at 70 proof in Auburndale Florida. The aroma is fresh peeled orange with vanilla and caramel.  The juicy orange entry is joined by caramel and chocolate building to a tart orange peak.  It fades with a hint of nuts, a peppery sting, and an oily mineral water feel, before a long orange peel finish with a touch of heat.  This is a very tasty spirit that offers a lot of flavor, but it may disappoint those looking for more whiskey taste.
