Review: Truly Wonderworld Hard Seltzer

Truly Wonderworld was just released.  It has been 4 months since Truly has released a new mix pack.  In hard seltzer years that’s equal to about one year.  A quick glance at the Truly web page shows this is one of nine Truly brand, 4 flavor Mix Packs.  The others include Truly Berry, Citrus, Tropical, Lemonade, Iced Tea, Punch, Margarita, and Vodka Seltzer.  Each of the four new flavors are a two fruit blend made with filtered water, alcohol from cane sugar, less than 2% real fruit juice from concentrate, and natural flavors.  Truly and White Claw continue to dominate the hard seltzer market but sales have slowed and they have both introduced flavored vodka’s.  Truly also released Truly Vodka Seltzer.  Truly Wonderworld shows Truly has not forgotten that hard seltzer helped carry Boston Beer Company for several years as sales of some of their other brands including Sam Adams slowed. Review: White Claw Peach Hard Seltzer

White Claw Peach Hard Seltzer was just released.  My initial thought was to tag this review White Claw Peach but with the recent release of four varieties of White Claw vodka, all future White Claw reviews will need to distinguish between vodka and hard seltzer.  Peach is the thirteenth flavor of Original White Claw hard seltzer and currently the only flavor not sold as part of a 4 flavor 12 can variety pack.  It is sold in individual flavor 6 packs.  This is White Claws first new flavor in their Original Line of hard seltzer since they replaced Mango with Passion Fruit in the White Claw Variety Pack No. 2.  WC Peach is made with purified carbonated water, cane sugar alcohol, peach juice concentrate, cane sugar, and natural flavors.  Read more »

The High Noon Challenge

The High Noon Challenge is not a drinking competition, nor is it as painful as the Paqui One Chip Challenge.  The High Noon Challenge is a fun way to sample all 13 High Noon Hard Seltzers without feeling like you just drink 13 cans of hard seltzer.  For those unfamiliar with High Noon it’s best described as a Real Vodka + Real Juice Hard Seltzer.  The High Noon Challenge is an event to be shared with family and friends.  This event is best enjoyed in groups of 4-12.  To join the fun, pick up one four flavor 8 can variety pack of High Noon Tropical, one High Noon Tailgate variety pack, one High Noon Pool Variety Pack, and one pack of 3 ounce Solo cups.  If you can’t find Solo cups, Dixie cups will work but it always seems more fun drinking from a Solo cup.  High Noon does make a 13th flavor.  High Noon Lemon is sold in an individual flavor 4 can pack.  For extra credit pick up one 4 can pack of High Noon Lemon.  Read more

Review: Canteen Vodka Soda Tropical Variety Pack

Canteen Vodka Soda was launched 2019, the same year High Noon Hard Seltzer was released.  Both brands took a different approach to the market.  While both are made from an vodka alcohol base.  Canteen choose to go with the vodka soda designation while High Noon positioned themselves as a hard seltzer.  Canteen Spirits was founded by Daniel Barnes founder of Treaty Oak Distillery and Brandon Cason who helped build Deep Eddy Vodka before the pair co-founded Waterloo Sparkling Water.  The duo have since added Canteen Gin Spritz and Cantina Tequila Soda to their product line.  Canteen currently produces seven flavor varieties all are sold in individual flavor 4 packs and Ruby Red and Cucumber Lime are only sold that way.  The others are available in Canteen’s Classic or their Tropical Variety Packs.  Their Lime flavor is sold in both variety packs. Review: Javi’s Ranch Water Watermelon

Javi’s Ranch Water Watermelon is one of 3 flavored ranch waters produced by the makers of High Noon Hard Seltzer.  The other flavors include the previously reviewed Lime and Grapefruit.  By my count this is the third watermelon flavored Ranch Water we have reviewed, trailing only Lime and Grapefruit.  Javi’s is made with 100% agave tequila sparkling water and natural flavors.  Javi’s Ranch Water is currently only available in Southern California, Texas, and the Chicago area markets.  I’m expecting Javi’s to be available nationwide in 2023 perhaps with a fourth flavor and sold in a mix pack.  I’m guessing Mango will be their next flavor. Review: Truly Holiday Party Pack 2022

Truly has released a new Holiday Party Pack for 2022 and while they are the first hard seltzer brand to release their Holiday Pack, for me the flavors don’t scream “Holiday Pack”.  This may be a good thing since others have already released Egg Nog and Gingerbread flavored hard seltzers and I’m not ready for a Turkey, or Mashed Potato and Gravy hard seltzer.  Truly has brought back two of last years flavors, Holiday Sangria, and Cran Orange Sparkler but even they have been tweaked to now include real fruit juice.  Blackberry Bramble and Pear Martini are new this year.  Each 12 ounce slim can is made with filtered water, alcohol, natural flavors, real fruit juice from concentrate, and stevia. Review: Big Country Organic Hard Seltzer

Big Country Organic Hard Seltzer was introduced in 2020 with four flavors including Strawberry & Tangerine, Honeydew & Yuzu, Coconut & Papaya, and Blackberry & Grapefruit.  They recently relaunched the brand with three new flavors including Passion Fruit & Kiwi, Prickly Pear & Peach, and Watermelon & Pineapple.  They kept Blackberry & Grapefruit.  Big Country Foods started as an organic cane sugar supplier by Bill Gillies in 2013.  In 2020 Bill opened Willards Brewery, the only certified organic brewery in the state of Texas.  Ricky Cobia a nationally acclaimed mixologist helped in crafting the organic flavors found in Big Country Organic Hard Seltzer.  Each 12 ounce can is made with purified water, organic alcohol fermented with Big Country organic cane sugar, organic flavors, and citric acid. Review: Javi’s Ranch Water Grapefruit

Javi’s Ranch Water was recently launched in Texas, Southern California, and the Chicago Market by E&J Gallo, the makers of High Noon Hard Seltzer.  If all goes well National distribution will follow in 2023.  It is sold it individual flavor four packs in Lime, Grapefruit, and Watermelon flavors.  Javi’s is named for the French Bulldog mascot found on each 12 ounce can.  Javi’s is what I would refer to as a “real ranch water” as it is made from a 100% Weber Blue agave blanco tequila base.  Some canned ranch waters are made with a malt, or fermented cane sugar base.  E&J Gallo has jumped into the hard seltzer and tequila markets with both feet as they not only produce the High Noon brand but they own several tequila brands including Camarena, Komos, and Don Fulano.  The tequila base for Javi’s comes from Envasadora de Productos Lideres.  Sparkling water and natural flavors are blended before canning at 4.5% alcohol. Review: Javi’s Ranch Water Lime

Javi’s Ranch Water was recently launched by E&J Gallo, the makers of High Noon Seltzer.  It is currently only sold in Texas, Southern California and the Chicago market.  It is available online throughout California and Illinois.  The original ranch water cocktail was invented in West Texas and it was made with 100% agave blanco tequila, Topo Chico mineral water, and fresh lime juice.  Ranch Water has also become very popular in canned form with some making theirs with tequila and some with a malt or sugar alcohol base.  Javi’s Ranch Water is made with 100% agave blanco tequila, sparkling water and natural flavors.  It is currently sold in individual flavor 4 packs.  Today we are reviewing Lime.  Watch for our thoughts on Javi’s Ranch Water Grapefruit, and Watermelon on future posts.
